i think these have been the best ones yet, the thing is am now tempted to sit back and wait for them to start on the SS items theres more stockists now on the stuff i buy so its not so much an issue paying full price to get my size how about you lot ?
GOt caught last summer Sean and cost myself250 on 2 items so swore I would wait it out at winter. I've picked up most of the things I've wanted at a decent discount so happy enough. NOt sure they are the best sales though. Mr porter was excellent, atoo had a good show, thought the bureau was good but end, op and a few others was poorer I thought. My wardrobe possibly the biggest letdown. OF course, it all depends on what you were after....
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."
I can't honestly say i can't remember sales being this good over such a long period and i can't help thinking there will be casualties. Take Mr Porter as a prime example, 70% discount free deliveries and free returns, sorry but the maths don't add up.
On a brighter note, i'm throwing my hand in as i have pushed her......and my bank balance to the limit and will now officially retire from the Great Sales Free For All!
Theres no doubt they have been good but its also a sign of the times imo and it will be interesting to see which shops/online retailers are still around this time next year. Mr Porter has certainly been the standout for me, to go straight 50% off on so many items was a pleasant surprise and then 70% on some. Like T says above it does get you wondering mind but when you look at the wide range of gear and prices they stock ( there is some ridiculously priced gear when you loo around the site ), they obviously have some clout with brands so even at 70% off Im sure they make a few quid. Im sure S/S may follow a similar pattern although I'll be interested to see stock levels and what commitment shops take on. I can honestly say Ive filled my boots in these sales!!
In all honesty Ian it ain't just shops, i'm having to quote jobs i were pricing in more or less the same pricing structure of 5 year ago to even get a bite!
As commented on previous threads/posts, 'sign of the times'
Not got much really, got a couple of bits i've had my eye on but have noticed the sales have been particularly good this year. Just got a new car aswell though so didn't want to take the piss either
i thought ends was decent but as you say it depends on what your after they cant match the likes of mr porter tho, and my wardrobes not been up to much this season its very rare i have a look on there now
I m getting to the stage now where even stuff that is at 70% off doesnt reach my expectations. I bought a Gitman shirt for £68 del in the sales, was £155 rrp, no way is it worth the sale price let alone the original price. The only things I ve bought(in the sales) that I was happy with , were, A Crojack Li for £160, and an Our Legacy trench for £145
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.... Going on a 3 week trip on the 4th and trying to save dosh, but there's a jacket I've been after gone 60% off... Thinking of smashing both my hands up so I can't get at my wallet.

I agree, these have been the best sales i've ever known but that could be a bad sign for shops goign forward. If they have had to slash prices this much they must realy be struggling and quite a few may be on the brink of going under. There are probably too many shops now selling to a fairly small market.
I've shopped in the sales only for a long time now with the exception of outlets where its pot luck but worth a nose every now and then.
