bobbing over to io pollio tommorow and taking the lady over for the day out will be having a few pots then for a bite to eat any recomendations ..apart from seafood appreciated!
There's a great Tapas place near Deansgate, San Carlo is apparently really good Italian (I've never been). Near to Oi Polloi there is the Market Restaurant (quality English food), a friendly Chinese place and an Oriental/Malay type place.
Really depends on what you're looking for. Let us know the £££ and type of food/atmos and can give bett recommendations.
How about bem brazils for something different ?....If you haven't heard of it, neither had i until my mate told me about it, his dad went to visit him at Uni and took him there, basically they give you a card, one side green one side red, aslong as it is on the green side they will keep bringing you multiple cuts of meat to your table for you to try/not try depending on taste.....They don't stop until you say so by flipping your card.....
Noon to 4pm its £12.50 on weekdays and £14.50 on weekends
4pm-close its £25
I really wanna go and may well do next time up there !!

Heard good stuff about the new Jamie Oliver restaurant - think the wife just wants me to take her there!
boobed into bem brasils today it was ok but wont be rushing back..all as per described by chineese allan ..the salad bar was all fresh just the meats which they cut off in front of you were a bit tough and fatty,,but still worth the try just from the point of novelty value..on a plus note have been over to OP shop 6 times now and always have the crack with them .cant fault it at all and a nice 10 per cent disc on garments purchased which more than covered my share of the 42.00 tab at bems..will defo try Olivers place on nxt trip over

Good stuff mate !! Glad you went for a try, think ill give it a go soon !! What was the 42 quid then ? the lunch menu plus drinks ?
Considering im sure toby carvery charge £10.00 these days for the standard carvery, so for the two of you plus drinks that'd easily be cracking on for £35/40 quid you didn't do too bad !!

Think I will stick with the steak night at the local weatherspoons... Two 8oz sirloin steaks and a bottle of wine(which my mrs drinks i might add) for £14.99

Might give it a swerve, can go to a place in sutton coldfield that does the best pizza i have ever tasted (never been to italy but people that have say this is as good if not better/the resturant is always full of italians which can only be a good sign) and have a meal with drinks for £40......
Cheers for the advice, my mate loved it there, horses for courses i suppose.
