At least that's what I'll be saying (in my head) tomorrow. Got about 3, maybe 4 hours to kill and wanted to see some sights. I've got the John Rylands Library snd the People's Museum on the list. Is there anything I'd be missing out on? Any little independent art/design galleries? Is there a Happy Mondays museum?
Afflecks Palace not worth bothering with anymore, Urbis might have something going on, Then you have the usual Northern Quarter mooch but a little too much for me these days, everybody looks the same to me. You could arrange to pop in PWVC Cooper/Stollbrand factory, nearby Salford, sure they be happy
If I can add a couple of stipulations; I don't want to stray too far from the centre as I'm due at the MEN in the evening and I'm not too fussed about doing anything clothes-related, rather see a bit of the design scene/architecture.
that big round building is pretty impressive. not far from the gmex - is it the library? i went to manchester last year for the first time in about 5 years. straight out of picadilly the area is completely unrecognisable with new massive glass buildings. i couldnt get my bearings at all. (im not still there)
Some great bars in and around the northern quarter beer wise - even lagers! This place has a huge selection but some are ridiculously pricey. http://www.portstreetbeerhouse.co.uk/

Nice one, thanks. Definitely trying this one. Just had a look at what tiger tiger actually is, there must be more on offer in Manchester.
57 thomas street linked with the marble beers brewery. had a fucking tremendous ploughmans lunch in there and a fine selection of beers (local and foreign)
reached for the secret too soon, cried for the moon.

lass o gowrie's good. the salisbury was always a good visit - full of metal heads yonks ago. there's also a bar that used to be a downstairs toilet, the temple. and the britons protection - think joy division signed their record deal in there or something
