I cant tell the difference between HD channels on Sky and normal channels and am paying £10 for this, Is there a difference?? Does it depend on your Tv, i am connected HDMI and using Bravia Tv, cant tell no difference, anybody find this or my eyes going
Don't notice the difference either to be fair & never have since i got it installed - Sky is little more than a rip anyway - with HD, multi room etc. i'm fucking £90 a month to that robbing bastard Murdoch
"If you have friends like mine, raise your glasses. If you don't have friends like mine, raise your standards."
Definitely a difference for me anyway. I've not plumped for the Sports and Movies HD package but even flicking from BBC1 to BBCHD should show quite a step up in picture quality. It might be that your tv was upscaling to near HD beforehand, but you should still be able to tell.
I had the pleasure of going round my mates to find he had a Samsung 55" 3D tv set up with 7.1 surround sound. I was very sceptical of 3D until I saw this. Absolutely mind blowing stuff. Like looking through a window
I struggle to notice the difference as well but my tele was scaling up the normal pix before so it does make me wonder why I still pay the extra cock and hen a month
My tv is playing silly bastards with hd either that or i'm a silly bastard when i turn on my tv i have to go to menu - source then scroll down to hdmi press select then i'm in hd but if the sky gets turned over the tv goes back to being in tv mode so i have to go throught the whole procedure again very fuckin frustrating however when in hd theres a definate improvement
I got Sky HD 3 years ago this month and back then there was a huge difference between SD and HD. They have slowly but surely cut down the bit-rate of HD and while it is still much better than SD, particuarly the football, it is not as stunning as it was. Put a bluray disc in and if you can't tell the difference then, then I would say your telly is shite.

I have HD and TBH its ok but not out of this world. The TV has to be 1080p. I can tell the differnce on mine but if you haven't got it I wouldn't worry about it. The best way to discribe it is, its like the best picture you have ever had on your normal telly but with HD you get you get this all of the time.

None as yet lol it doesnt do it if i scroll up and down with sky remote but as soon as i press tv guide on sky remote it knocks it off hd and trust me its doing me fuckin head in more so cos i cant work it out
It depends a lot on the size of the tv and how far away you sit from it. I've got a 46" screen and it's noticeable, particularly with moving images. That said, there's more of a difference between recently made programmes in SD and older ones, so it depends what you're watching as well. I would also say that the difference between DVDs and Blu-ray discs is a lot less.
