Broke up (again) and this time permanently with the mother of my 6 year old daughter. The last time we separated she smashed me for maintenance and we had nothing official drawn up. Anyone care to shed any light as how maintenence is arrived at legally?
Mate, do yourself a favour and contact the CSA and start the ball rolling yourself, or get a solicitor and arrange it through a court order, more importantly get your access put down in the court papers, and always meet your obligations.
It all depends on how often you have her at yours as well mate, I wish you all the best with it because it's a shit situation with nothing going in your favour. At the time I had my son at my house 2-3 nights a week and I was paying her £400 a month but I was still buying all his clothes and toys and then it all got messy because she was an evil bastard, and unfortunately the way it's mapped out is the less you have her at yours the more money she gets from you, so if I was you I would try and settle out of the csa, because if she wants to hurt you and get more money (I don't know her or the situation but I'm just saying) she will just cancel any overnighters you have planned and she will get more money taken from you, regardless of what you do for your child outside of that arrangement, and there is nothing in your favour, so my advice is bite your lip and offer her money weekly a set fee, that you pay into her bank account by an outgoing bill from your bank account and keep things sweet with her so you can see your girl. I wish you all the best with it mate.
Thanks for those replies lads. Haven't been on in a few days and I'd also like to say thanks to all who pmed with advice, support etc, it's appreciated.
Gonna trawl through the pms now and reply to all, haven't been ignoring them.
