He was a right wanker as a player but give him his due he's one of the better pundits in the game now. Considering his experience in coaching though does he deserve a job?
I think they have all the experience they need in terms of coaching with Hodgson. No doubt though, he was a captain with a winning mentality and learned under the best when it comes to being psychologically focussed and knowing how to deal with big pressure situations. I don't see how it could hurt England's chances if he can help a team who have consistently bottled every tournament in recent memory.
Hated him as a player but as a pundit he spoke a lot of sense & loves the game & put his own money back in to it Big risk taking the Valencia job though, he can't speak the language
