belt drive I think mate would advise against it to be honest they will be sluggish, I think it's best to put the extra and you'll appreciate it more
I wasn't asking for myself I have 1210s just thought i'd post them up for reference.
belt drives aren't great for beat mixing but these are so cheap if all you wanted to do was play records they would be fine.
no problem I think its just a sign of the times that this type of set up has got so cheap. I was quite surprised when I saw them.
nobody wants these things anymore.
The thing is mate it's a natural progression, I agree with you, I had 1210's, then I had a 3 deck stanton get up that I had built into a wooden unit in my living room, and then eventually I sold the set up and picked up Vestax cdr-07's, I preferred vinyl (for scratching) but with me and the current climate of music some of the best music made is digital only by nerd's basically in their bedroom, some of the thing's I've picked up from blog's and music forum's/sites from Belgium, Japan, Italy, Australia and other place's are unreal, that and these day's in an internet based world producer's put preview tracks up of music theyve made and say released in 6 month's or something stupid, the next day you can get it digitally 6 month's before anyone else, so for DJ'ing purposes cd for me is the forefront, for music purposes it's hands down vinyl, but I'm not willing to wait until a release date for something when by this time it's been hammered, I'm lucky enough to get hold of promo's and the music I do so I wouldn't change it to be honest.

i'm a bit different i'm not following current music and bang up to date stuff. I collect 60s and 70s soul 45s so a record player for me is still an essential part of kit. Also nothing like a nice old 45. I doubt the soul scene will ever fully embrace the digital revolution the notion of being able to play a very rare and hard to find record simply from a mp3 on a laptop just wouldn't wash with collectors who have spent years collecting (and in some caeses a huge amount of money) and looking for the records.
i'm still obvuosuly making mp3s of the records I find to listen to in car etc.
I have some lovely Eltax floorstanding speakers for sale, but guess your too far away Also just to mention I was did a gig on the homemix CDj system with built in mixer and did the job
I kept a 1210 when I sold my old set up a few years ago just to give me a medium to add some old tracks to mixes that just aren't available at a good quality digitally. Sold two sets of cdj's since then to fund jaunt's away with the lads, currently have 400's that I use for my weekly radio show. Don't bother with gigs anymore though.

Yeah but is there a certain kind to work on the decks. I haven't the first clue about anything to do with decks lol.
not realy just a 1/2 decent amp like a NAD, caimbridge audio, marantz etc etc and any 1/2 decent speakers should be fine.
whats your budget ?
Just as cheap as possible. Only for in the house and like I said I'm no expert.
you will probably require cartridges as well as amp, speakers and headphones of a decent quality..all starts to mount up as well as starting with a product i wouldn,t even class as a dj turntable best thing to do is hold out on the bay for a full set up within a ten mile radious of your address where you can collect for an ok price as no one buys this type of gear //usual suspects cheap are stanton/numark type stuff with a direct drive fitted amps speakers are most of the time thrown in as they are never up to that much either
I thought that. Pay £65 for the turntables but then before I know it I have paid another £200 getting them actually working haha. I'll keep looking out but like I said I just want something to play a bit of vinyl in the house. I have always wanted to start dj'ing as a hobby but if i was to do that I think I would go for cd decks.
waste of £65 cheap plastic shite same as all homemix gear and already mentioned their belt drive which a would avoid buying if your wanting to beat match will be a pure mission but most people I know who started on belt drive when they swapped to direct drives it was a piece of piss for them
best just saving for 1210's their bombproof so will last you 20+ years easily and their the industry standard so if you ever play out anywhere you will know what to expect
