Im off there next week for the Hamburg v St Pauli match....never been before but heard its tip top!....the game should be good....looking forward tae this.....anyone been over?....
Was gonna go over for this game as well, but I'm all out of brownie points at the moment. Heard that Reiperbhan (sp?) is amazing. You'll be in good company as about 100 gers fans over for the game.
The match and surroundings should be an exciting one. At night all ways lead to the Reeperbahn with all sorts of the more adult varieties of entertainment

I was there various times - a lovely city. As it was also mentioned make your way to the Reeperbahn and its surroundings and you'll find nearly everything you want. Matchday and the night before should be interesting
I'm off there in a few weeks for the annual Celtic/St Pauli party. I think the Hamburg derby might be a bit more fun though.
I think I'm staying near the Reeperbahn. Heard some dodgy tales about that place and the arears around it!
I'll probably just drink the weekend away with that Astra beer they sell in that area. Anyone know the best beers sold in Hamburg and the pubs and restaurants worth visiting etc?
Went there in 89 on way back from Stockholm via Copenhagen after England v Sweden. Great prices after Scandanavia at the time !
General image is the Reeperbahn and 'seedy' side of Hamburg - which I'm not knocking. Top quality pub crawl around the Reeperbahn area. But the rest of Hamburg is pretty good too in that Hanseatic / north Germanic way. Sure there was a quality regeneration around the dock area going on a couple of years ago

Have good un sir, been to Hamburg a few times - got put on my arse in the Reeperbahn by a hells angel the last time. It's a sleazy fucker of a place, but a good laugh all the same.

got back last night,,,,great trip,,spent the 1st night in Bremen,crashed in the Hilton went out got wrecked,next day up and off tae Hamburg.Got beers for the train,mistake,got kicked off in the German countryside in the pissing rain,middle of nowhere.Walked into some village ,,,went into the local boozer then got a taxi tae Hamburg.The game got called but saturday night was a bit wild....i got lost,bumped off a hooker.Watched the OF game on sunday got wrecked again then headed home in bits yesterday.....all in top weekend
