Its(not) funny how when a few hundred people die in a major disaster we re all shocked and show compassion, but when other nations people are dying daily of disease and starvation we really dont really take any notice
That's a really narrow minded comment to be honest, like you know how everybody else personally feel's, this was a thread about something that happened yesterday and shook me on the severity of it, so forgive me if when I watched that video I didn't ignore it and start a thread on Aids/Africa/Starvation/Poverty/War and the rest of the world's problem's.
Worked at nuke plants before and looks to be a structure above the reactor, not as bad as some see it but not good either. I do know that they said the diesel engines to cool the reactors shut down and now running on batteries but Japan is highly regarded for their technology so I'm sure it will suffice for a bit, hopefully
BBC now saying another one has hit NW Japan measuring 6.6 on the scale.
When it rains it pours hey!
G.
dont know how true, heard some scientist bloke, saying theres somekind of earthquake/tremor nearly everyday in that part of the world. sadly this one has caused untold damage.
Watching those latest videos on Sky news where that black sea water comes over the sea walls and just destroys everything in its path shows how much power and energy the tsunmai had. Truly jaw-dropping.
earthquakes arent linked to the atmosphere so i doubt they could be immediatly linked to global warming etc. the earths crust s made up of tectonic plates which are always moving, some away from one another, some slide alongside and some move towards each other. pretty sure the plate japan lies on is on the boundary of two plates moving towards each other. (the very basics - two plates almost battle it out, until one gives way creating the tremors) tsunami can be formed from the displacement of water when the earthquake occurs.
Some say it has something to do with disappearing ice on the poles. We´re talking about massive amounts of ice, which weigh... well a fucking lot I suppose. Maybe this affects teutonic activity.
Searching for orange Henry Lloyd Viking Smok size small.
They just can't get a break these Japanese folk. Monster earthquake followed by an unimaginable tsunami and now radiation leaks and the threat of a serious nuclear disaster.
