weve got 3 in sunderland but i,m confused by there pricing, went in one today cost me £3.30 for a heineken, then popped in another one later and it was only £2.90. wtf is going on there then, it was the same with all the lagers totally different prices.
Hate the clientel in these establishments, but they do look after there beer and real ale is cheap as fook. In the one near me its 1.19 a pint of thornbridge!

G.
no different to alot of bars in sunderland city centre, real ale fest on at the minute, unfortuanatley i dont touch it bar the odd double maxim, no cheaper than normal bars these days, only good things are you get a good choice and your never looking for a seat as there big places.

£3.30m for a Heineken, I dont think there is any pint in the Bedford ones over £3.00
yep, nearly fell over when he asked for £3,30 off me. think carling was £2.70. and they wonder why boozers are closing down.
there are quite a few pubs in town whose prices are well below Wetherspoons now, I just think they charge higher prices for their Lagers so that they ca nsell their Bitter cheap to the oldies that drink during the day
its only 2.30 for a pint of stella in the wetherspoons here but i rarely go in because of all the arseholes, i much prefer to spend 3.10 for a pint in a boozer with a roaring fire in the corner and a nice polish barmaid
Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
I fucking hate these places with a passion. They are plastic pubs, mere beer shops. No atmosphere, no life just identikit boozers full of pisscans during the day and mindless twats at night. The beer is shit and the food little better.

Zitat von SAFCBeauforthow longs this real ale fest on for anth, how much are the pints?
not sure james, think they had 10 ales in the new one, not sure about the other 2, not sure but i think they change the ales every week for how ever long the festival is on. http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/prom...estival-2011-20
One near us has Stella down at 2.80 whereas everywhere else it's 3.30 for the privelige. Still hate perusing the joint as it's like a kiddies youth club atmos wise. No music, no hazy smoke, no crack; just pure squeaky clean new age drinkers.
We had a Wetherspoon - Lloyds No.1 in Stourbridge. I have no idea how this differs to a run of the mill 'Spoons. And then they bought a big bar that closed and converted that to a run of the mill - Wetherspoon. So there's two of 'em now! Cheap beer clouds many a persons judgement though I would expect.
the one at the merry hill center near me is the only one i go in, its just full of shoppers havin lunch, so no smelly piss heads or sticky carpets..which is good..
if you work away from home during the week, these places are ideal for cheapish ale, they do have some decent guest beers on from time tro time, like everything it has its place

Some are hotels too so you can have the full 'spoons experience
Wetherspoons put an application in to move into the unit under my flat, I quickly sold up, they moved in, and knocked about at least 10% off the property values
got one open up the road think it opens at some mad time like 8am and full of piss heads by 8.15am, never really enter them, but have heard the one in merry hill center is nice???? not for me no life in the places. imo
