A tragedy and an injustice. Rugby or cricket fans would never have been herded around like that.
God bless the 96. [/quote]
thing is rugby fans and cricket fans never behaved like football lads behaved weekend in weekend out....this is my take on things agree or not thats up to you..but people died that day because there were fences up...the fences were there because of the hooliganism problems (the English disease?) of the seventies and eighties....ive been at Hillsborough today, went to the memorial to pay my respects with many others....if what happened 22 years ago had happened today then people would have spilled onto the pitch.....hooliganism from the past/the time was a major part of lives being lost that day imo as well as mistakes made by police etc

Wadey, I respect your opinion, you're one of the main stays of this forum. But I've seen rugby fans and the way they behave at first hand more time than I care to remember. The authorities attitude to rugby fans when they get lairy and misbehave is, 'ah shur it's only the lads havin the craic' - it's a class thing. I know for a fact that a lot of Cardiff City fans (including their lads) give the city centre a swerve whenever there is a rugby match because of the kidology. Don't you know it's fine for the middle classes to puke their ring up on the main street and act the idiot in their jester hats? But the lads from the football, oh no, lock them up for bouncing up and down!

im not ignorent enough to think that rugby fans dont play up...but they dont and never have done like football lads/fans did in the 70s 80s 90s up to present to an extent...mass pitch invasions/brawls inside grounds up and down the country week in week out !! (not so much 90s/these days..though does happen time to time)....

Again, all true. I'd still rather have a drink with a football fan/chap/lad any day of the week though.........
