Just after a bit of info lads and google isn't helping. My mother used my card to buy car insurance with Admiral. Had a letter from them saying money will be taken from the account shortly. There's no money in my account and she's given me a cheque for the insurance. If I deposit the cheque before the money gets taken out will I be charged for going overdrawn? Worried the money might not even come out of my account or I get charged a whack of money.
They shouldn't but they might. They should really be able to see the money is going but there twats like that. Cheque takes a few days to clear. When is the money due ? And when are you cashing the cheque ?
just explain to the bank what the crack is. and that you will not accept any charges. if they charge you go back into the bank and explain to them once again.
reached for the secret too soon, cried for the moon.

If the cheque is with your bank you're fine, if your Mam has given you (for arguement's sake) a Llyods's cheque and your account is with RSBC it will take at least 3 days to clear and the bank may choose to bounce the direct debit, the bastards. I used to work in a bank over here.
Ring and explain to the bank and then ring ins company and tell them to delay it for 5 days, they will do it , had a similar problem when i was on holiday and ins company delayed untill i got back, they want your money not a returned dd ,
Cheers lads. Made my missus put her money in my account for a few days. All sorted now, didn't want to risk it because I know what the banks will do. Thanks for the advice.
Whenever I get a bank charge I just go to the local branch and say "I've been a customer for X years, refund me or I'll move my account elsewhere"'Been refunded every time in the branch,'never works over the phone though.

Snap. Helps if your whole family banks with them as well cause then you can give it "and my family will be joining me as well" always seems to make their arses collapse. The fucking cunts.
I'm not really sure of all this pressure, I'm never gonna lose any of my old letters, 'Cause they'll stay with me, Until I can see that I'm no one
