Nice one for posting the Jehst songs. The last 'new' hip-hop album I listen to regular is 'Let's get free' but been getting in British hip-hop lately, seem great talent out there. Jehst sounds right up my street from the couple of tracks I just listened to. 'England' is just like a British 'NY State Of Mind', it's a great song.

Don't think anyone on here is into the same type of music as me but I'd have to say Jehst - 1979

Are you actually Crazy Titch, you must of been good to get out this early.

@ Crazy T and Whitey I'm a Jehst fan as well, Premonitions was way ahead of it's time. I think as a rapper he's comparable to Nas, unbelievable flow/lyrics but will never be fully respected cos of his background (middle class uni student). I don't listen to too much Hip Hop these days cos I don't agree with a lot of the subject matter, when I was younger on the estate, homeless, into drugs getting into bother every night I could relate, feeling like the world owed me. I can appreciate England as a tune but I get slightly more right wing as the years go on, when I listen to the lyrics a lot of it is left wing apologist shit, so I can't fully enjoy it.

I know what you're saying same can be said about lots of the UK Hip-Hop acts that came out around the early 2000's middle class uni students looking to branch out from the same old indie kid scene so they branched onto the growing UKHH.

I think that his best work is Return of The Drifter. As for the political viewpoint I'm also leaning towards the right and I agree with what you're saying but again it's one of those situations where is he saying it as he knows it's what is intended audience want to hear?

£10 bag volume 1, I would as go as far as to say it's a classic within the scene, everyone was on that mixtape from Roots Manuva to Killa Kela.

I'm happy to see Foreign Beggars doing well, not really feeling their new stuff but they are one of the acts who have put the work in and have built off their own success and hype.

I'd post 'Hold On' with them and Skinnyman but can't get YouTube in the office.

Blade - The Lion Goes From Strength To Strength, not everyone’s kettle of fish but it's a great album.

"I stole a video from Currys in the riots." - Very apt.

Absolutely impossible to chose my favourite song, I simply don't have one. But I'll have a bash at my top 10. I won't even get into the reggae and disco records I love, I'd be here all day. I'll not put any Fall in either, no chance of choosing a favourite track. Maybe an album...

Sums up Chicago for me. It still sends shivers down my spine to this day.

Can't get rarer than this, Hortense Ellis - Don't go. Never released, and this is the only recording of it. When she starts "If I call out your name...", I don't think I've ever heard the human voice make a more beautiful sound. Hortense RIP.

Johnny Cash - Big Foot. A song that I literally have to hold back tears when I hear. I've no idea why.

Another one that brings tears, Between the Wars is, IMO, Billy Bragg's finest work. The video that the uploader's done for this is good too.

Continuing with sad music (can you sense a theme?), Perfect Day by Lou Reed. A song that I haven't listened to for 15 years after it was played at my dads funeral, and probably never will again.

50 seconds of perfect synthesised sounds. I'm not sure if it's a song, or a tune, but it's ace.

Rodney's best.

Mr E's best.

David Byrne said this was the only love song he'd ever written. A pretty good dart.

Janet's nervous dancing in this video is proper sexy. I wish she'd come up to me and say how do you do.

I'm paying £3.99 or whatever it is a month, no adverts. Definitely worth it for me, 90% of music I play is from spotify.

As you say, it changes quite a lot, although if we're talking true favourites it'd certainly be something pre-perverted by language (However, although not up with my favourites, I reckon eat y'self fitter is one of the quintessential Fall tracks. It's what I suggest to people to listen to to get an idea of what the Fall are about. More accessible than most IMO). Maybe Grotesque or Hex. If C'n'C-S and Fortress/Deer Park were on the same record, it'd be that. Two of my favourites. Witch Trials, Dragnet.... They're all perfect those from that period of the Fall. Fiery Jack could be my favourite fall tune actually. It's cus he say's my name innit.

Fallfanuk on Youtube, absolutely sterling work.

What do you think to YFOC?

Their best for years IMO, although the Reformation line up was the best I've seen live. Shame the album didn't quite live up to it.

I agree with you on all points there, like Cowboy George on Your Future. Really liked the Reformation lot, looked as if they had a bit of spunk about 'em, y'know. Not into the current line up (if it still is the current line up?) the two lads with skinheads? That said, I've seen the Fall live about 7 times and never thought much of them, however the last time I saw them about a year ago, with the line up I don't like, I thought they were pretty good. Mark looked, for once, happy to be there, engaging in a bit of banter, and playing a pretty long set.

I saw them at Leeds.... 2006, I think, the day after he'd sacked the band (might have been the reformation lot actually), they were awful.

Still current line up (drummer and bassist skinheads?) Can be very hit and miss, seen em about 15 times and theres been some shite some okay and then theres the few times when they're fucking mindblowing which makes it worth going. Bit like following a football team really. Going back to what you said earlier though, early Fall is untouchable. Pretty much right the way through to This Nations Saving Grace flawless!

Right back on topic...like that Frankie Knuckles track posted, some interesting stuff ^.
