Last time I was in Sicily which was maybe 2004... Mount Etna was a spectacle. Could see the lava pouring from Catania at night.

Had a chance to be at the summit of Etna on numerous times... what a place.

Quality pics thank fuck im no where near must be scary as living below that when it blows

Should put some old Etna photos I've got from when I last visited Sicily.

Always interested in stuff like this

lol i know but it doesnt look that far away from civilization on the eruption pics

Access to the mountain is on the "bleak" side of the mountain... just over the other side resides plenty of homes and businesses down below.

Sicily is an incredible place, some Etna shots from 2007







At the last big eruption they prayed and the lava flow stopped a couple of metres short of this house.



It was hailed as a miracle so they built this shrine

This one wasn't so lucky.



-Amazingly... the interior was perfect.
