Every time I read this "jelly and ice cream" pish, I cringe at the sheer hypocrisy of it.
I give you Alan Brazil's testimonial on the abuse he suffered from Celtic Boys Club Manager Jim Torbett "That was the thing I really didn't like. He would give us ice cream and biscuits. He even had boxes of toys, which I thought were meant for kids much younger than us."
jesus christ we've entered a whole new low here. Since 'jelly and ice cream' seems to offend your sensibilities how about we switch to 'strippers and whores' if (and I pray it will) your cheating, bigoted institution goes the way of the dinosaur.
Have to laugh at the moron's thinking Administration marks the end of the Rangers, press conference from Administrator's today sounded very positive to me. If I was a Celtic fan I'd be more worried about the fact that the past three years they haven't managed to win the League title against a financially stricken club despite spending loads on fee's and wages, not only that but one of the poorest Rangers side's in history.

You lot always think Celtic spend more money. We have taken in more players but no way do we spend as much. Jelavic two seasons back cost the same as Kayal, Izzaguire and Hooper put together.
I will not worry about throwing the league away three years on the trot. Luck runs short sometimes and now its Rangers turn to get dealt a bad card.
Quote by STEVECFCsay Rangers were to be wound up , seriously think the SPL would survive ? who on earth would challenge Celtic for the league ?
Yes the SPL would survive. Celtic would win the league for the forseeable future but what difference would that make for the other teams challenging? Increases their chance of second place and european places.
Rangers fans seem to think that if Rangers were to fold that the television rights would be instantly revoked, which they won't. But even if that was to happen is the league going to fall apart? How do leagues that don't get television rights at the moment survive? Or does every league in football have to be televised.
It's all irrelevant because I don't think Rangers are going to fold but the people saying the SPL won't survive without them are nuts.
The league would survive but it would get weaker and weaker. TV deals and sponsorship would be harder than ever to attract and quality players would not be excited about signing for Celtic in a one team league. The same would happen if it was the other way around as well. Celtic & Rangers need each other.
my point was more meant to be question than statement .. the size of the club and fanbase , Celtic would just constantly win the league , how could that possibly be healthy ? I really have little to no interest in Scottish football , follow Rangers through good friends and links tied with Chelsea ..
I wouldn't say we need each other. But it definitely makes the football more interesting. Like you say vasque if they were to fold the league would become more boring. But it wasn't long ago that teams like aberdeen were challenging for the league. Hearts finished second above Rangers a few years ago too.
I've heard people saying things like 'you laugh now, but yous will be next' it's ridiculous.
For the record I don't want to see Rangers fold. I would like to see them relegated but i dont think that will happen either.
Alex Salmond said Celtic need Rangers. Here's the clubs response.
IN response to comments made by First Minister Alex Salmond, the club have released the following statement:
“We are very disappointed with the First Minister’s claims that Celtic ‘need’ Rangers and that Celtic ‘can't prosper unless Rangers are there’”.
"This is simply not true. In a series of interviews given just three days ago, we made it abundantly clear that Celtic has a well-defined strategy and a business plan independent of the fortunes of any other club. That remains absolutely the case.
“The predicament of Rangers is clearly a serious and complex matter with a whole range of possible outcomes.
“However, we are extremely well-qualified to make our own position clear and have no wish to see this being misrepresented for political reasons .”
There are other clubs in Scotland with significant fan bases - a lot more than certain EPL teams anyway.
Attendances in Scotland may seem low, but they are in the top 10 in Europe - higher than Russia.
Celtic definately do not need Rangers. I do think the league would suffer as a result. But I think this would result in Celtic becoming weaker and the other teams catching up. Don't forget that almost any decent player in the league is almost immediately snapped up by the OF. If this didn't happen, it would be a much better league IMO.
Rangers only had 17k against Dundee United last week in the cup Craig Whyte will be wishing he went into Admin earlier
Celtics never been in Administrstion either mate we where close though. Cant blame the "big house" for selling out today could be one of the last chances the fans get to see their team play

You should be ashamed of yerself....why on earth would you bring something like that into the thread....disgusting....haven't you anything bette to say than to try and point score using such despicable topic.
Been interesting how many Rangers fans are hoping for the club to die and start over in England. Would they really stick with the club for 10-15 years whilst playing the likes of Colwyn Bay and Barrow?

They seem to be under the impression they'd start in League Two. Really can't see it happening, no way FIFA would allow it and I can't see many English clubs being pleased about it either

They literally have no rights to anything in English football so they can't expect anything else.
Quote by STEVECFCI'm pretty sure someone will buy them ..
Why?
Any Rangers fan who has the money to potentially bail them out didn't get that money by being financially stupid. And to invest in Rangers right now is beyond financial suicide.
