Got home last night to find police in the house interviewing my 15 year old son - because a 20+ year old has pulled a knife on him on his way home from school, demanding his mobile and money.
Son just kept calmly telling him 'no' whilst constantly keeping eye contact before and after the knife came out. Son started to walk backwards away from the youth and move towards some women on a nearby park. Youth kept on giving loads of verbal threats.
So proud of how cool and calm he handled it. If anything he's a bit too calm and collected even now and the police were surprised he's gone back to school today.
Dad wants to drive round and nail the fooker right now mind
Slightly annoyed with him as both my boys have been told to just hand over the phone - not worth the risk, but incredibly proud at the same time. Ironic thing he's got two phones (one for school, one for personal use), school phones are crappy cheap phones (they'll only get damaged /lost at school) so if he had handed that one over the youth probably would have given it him straight back.

i tell my mrs that theres no point in getting done in for a handbag or whatever but shes a bit of a scrapper so i wonder what shed do in that position. sounds like your lads of similar bent. he's got some proper cache with the girls in school though.
Nice one Ian and glad it wasn't worse, fair play to your son for the way he handled situation. as said there are some twats out there carrying blades and it isn't worth the risk. Called the lads bluff mind and it worked. He be the talk of the town at school for sure
I have found out the name of the youth and my son has positively identified him on Facebook. I know the area he lives, the school he went to and at least one (maybe two) other people who have been stopped by him (no knife that time though).
Staying calm, police have been good so far, so have informed the police so lets see what happens now...
