Lost it's appeal when the Old Wembley ceased to exist .. Saint & Greavesie , Question of Sport FA Cup edition , whole day was dedicated to the Final .. Used to be something magical about it , now a game at gone 5 , tbh I had forgot it was even on .. Real shame tbh .. See City winning 5-1 ..

I remember the whole day started at 11.00 if I'm correct.
Sad days and a sign of the times. Should still be the last game of the season and a 3pm kick off but I doubt that will return. I'm assuming a 5.15pm kick off to satisfy the sponsors and help viewing figures across the pond!
Agree with the above comments, used to be a mid morning start, cracking build up and a great day. Now what it is ! I was talking to a mate earlier and said " are you watching the game later " , he said " Villa Chelsea is on now isn't it ? " , I said " no the Cup Final " , " Oh, is it the cup final today ? " was the reply!! pretty much sums it up really
Fair play to Wigan, missed the goal as I went for a piss in the boozer. She in her infinite wisdom decided to rewind the Chanel on the remote and lost the picture, much to the amusement of the regulars
Well done Wigan but the FA Cup final has definitely lost appeal. It was one of the biggest events of the year when I was growing up, if not the biggest, not now. A 5pm kick off is a joke for a start.
What a game, the thing is, The match itself had the lowest media exposure i've ever experienced this year, yet it was the only final of the last fucking how many years that was half decent and sprung a suprise result.

I can't find fault with that statement...
Maybe it was what the cup needed ? Breath of life fresh air ?
Honestly these last 2 weeks, they've been fucking amazing, brentford Vs Doncaster, Hull Vs Cardiff and Watford Vs Leicester ending in the same sort of manic way with penalties being given and being missed when being taken under emmense levels of pressure.
Best final for ages, despite the FA trying to reduce it to an also-ran event. A quarter of the population of Wigan turned up for that to support their town, measure that against everyone's own club absolutely superb. It most be so easy for locals to go and 'support' the big clubs on their doorstep Delighted for Wigan
Good to see 2 ex Hamilton players doing well as well as Assistant Manager Graeme Jones who played up here for a spell and lost in our equivalent of the LDVans or whatever it's called these days.............still think Martinez plays James McCarthy in the wrong postion. He has a good, engine, strike of the ball and times his runs well into the box, wasted in a defensive midfield position.
Quote: Young_T wrote in post #22had also the 2nd largest following from one club, us lot. had at least 40,000 in the ground, rumours going round that was much higher.
the other record is again City at wembley in the 99 play off final in div 2.
How does the song go again? They've got the tallest floodlights in the Football League.....
