Will be in New York next month for a week ... will be my first time there .... wondering if anyone on here has been and can they recommend any good places to shop/eat/drink? ... or any places to go & things to do outside of the typical new york touristy stuff?
Sparks Steakhouse in Manhattan quality mate....an old New Yorker called Joseph (top man) who worked behind our hotel bar told us about it....food was brilliant...the place was packed with old mobsters in shiney suits😎
Buy a ticket for the tourist bus , there's loads of stops , and the stops are all places of interest which means you don't just have to use it for tourist things 911 memorial Central Park Times Square Hells Kitchen Brooklyn for keeping it real with ya homies Nepenthes , Barneys , and shit loads of other stores Taxis are cheap as fuck , metro is a great way to get round too using a day pass Serendipity great little coffee shop from the film
the Dark Horse Irish boozer down near ground zero, looks a shit hole outside, great boozer/sports bar inside. Loads of beers, great food, etc.... Staten Island Ferry if you cant be bothered going to the Statue. You can get great pics from the Ferry and it's dirt cheap. Century 21 for a more upmarket better organised TK MAXX if you want a plunder about for an hour. I've had some cracking bargains in C21 to be fair.
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."

Get a metro out to Brooklyn and walk back over the Brooklyn Bridge, then you can do ground zero and that.
The Staten island ferry was free and worth it. Get on the upper deck RH side for views of Liberty.
If you wanna do a show find out about the rush - I got tickets for The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-time for $40 each for a 45 min queue when online all that was left was $200 - $300.
I Stayed just of times square near Madison Gardens and walked up to Central park up 7th and down 10th through hells kitchen. Enjoyed that and boozed all the way along.
I also went up The Empire State which I thought was ace.
