book lacks credibility the minute Schmeichel isn't considered world class. He's not only world class but one of the best of any era for me. Absurd. Wonder how Rio feels being left out of it too.....

This is of course fabricated nonsense in order to sell his book. In truth there was 8 players, the other being Glenn Campbell, who some how slipped through the net. To think what might have been, his username on here might well have been ramseesMUFC

I told him to piss off. I'd much rather play up front with Kerry Dixon...............
Note Brendan Rogers barnet in the pic

I didn't have long hair until about 18 months after that

So, which ones you?
front row, first left. Brendy was a workman like player. Solid, decent, consistent. Cross between Gareth Barry and Nigel Worthington.....

not wanting to upset the Geordie boys on here I,ll agree with Gaza been world class... but Shearer falls below that level imo and didn't think we ever saw the best of him after his injury at Blackburn?...but this fella would be the man for me and had fergie managed him would of been right at the top of his list
Ability wise I wouldn't put Shearer up there with the best there has ever been, I merely commented on Steve's post.
But as a goal scorer, he is probably the best this country has ever seen. His Premier League record is exemplary, especially for the amount of serious injuries he suffered. He scored some unbelievable goals aswell.

Your half right, pub player at best!
cant argue with that. I scored 3 in front of Fergie at The Cliff.....proof the cunt cant spot a player...........

I'd actually go turn about on this mate. I thought Gazza was never the same after the knee went in the cup final. For me, my recollection was a few good individual goals against cannon fodder in qualifiers and mugging Hendry off at Wembley. Other than that,.....Lazio, Rangers, Everton....definitely not world class for me in those teams. Whereas Shearer for me, came back from a serious injury and scored some of best goals of his career in an (at times) poor side. He was excellent in Euro 96. And throughout his England career always looked/carried himself like a player the opposition feared. Hard and nasty in a way that reminded me of Peter Osgood in that he could look after himself but his range of goals is why I'd put him ahead of some of his peers. People like maybe Ian Wright who was a natural goalscorer had more pace etc... than Shearer but they didn't score his range. Long range, poachers, mustard with the head, Shearer scored them all. Easy to say Man U might have won more in Europe with him but such are the margins it's hard to really stand over that but certainly, they would have been even better with him up front. I'd have loved him at Chelsea.
