Thought i'd post some pictures as it may be of interest to some... Took the opportunity to attend Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday, have to say rather enjoyed it, plenty to see and do, never managed to get round the whole show... Apologies for the poor pictures, but no apologies for the biased..

Quote: clyde wrote in post #2Ford GT40 is a beast of car ..... looks superb aswell..... can't be many of those in the UK ...Noel Edmonds has / had 2
When i used to live in North Devon, you occasionally saw him in his gulf coloured one, never knew he had 2, both of those pictured to my knowledge weren't the GT developments replicas
Edit...looking at the registrations they must have been GT Developments?

Great pictures. Any Peugeot 309 GTi Goodwood's there???
I didn't see any, but that wasn't to say they weren't there...
I got there just after 7am and left shortly after 2pm and pretty much didn't stop walking ( i had Saturday and Sunday with calf burn! ), i only really saw a fraction of it!!, you could have spent 3 days there... I did see the 205 group B go up the hill climb though, very impressive.
One thing that did surprise me though was how approachable the drivers and mechanics where in the paddocks..
What, no pictures of any modern sports cars, look like a ponsified scrap yard for people who have nothing better to do than throw money at old rust buckets.
Ace that M.
I remember that episode of TG where they featured the GT40, try as he might Clarkson couldn't get in it, let alone drive it, so it asked for a midget to try, step forwrad Noel Edmunds.

IIRC T, the 40 part of GT40 stands for 40" tall...so fine for me and probably Mr.Ramsee's aswell
As for the rust buckets...that's nostalgia for you...as your probably aware i'm not a fan of cars, modern ones in particular far too many years wielding spanners for a pay packet put paid to that! When people get excited over cars....i see work...VW Beetle owners, just for example an enthusiastic bunch...i just think "you've never done a throttle cable have you?", i mean it took me nearly six years to mechanically restore mine after spinning a big end, but after finding a box of enthusiasm in the back of the garage and a flurry of activity on mine over the last 12 months my veins where coursing with optimism as it hit the road...so i made the phone call to book the Goodwood tickets a few months ago...and the young lady on the end sold me a dream...and i have to say i really enjoyed it Plenty of modern cars there, alot of manufacturers had some fancy displays, but too my mind you can see that stuff on your local high street...although the link i posted above does have more pictures...

G could sit in the footwell working the pedals and you could stand on the seat steering.
