Can't listen to them tracks atm mate, but I'll take a listen later.
AM were my favourite bands for about 3 years, but there newest stuff just isn't the same quality as the original stuff they first came out with.
Do you want them to keep releasing album after album of mardy bums etc.?
The new stuff sounds great to me, the QOTSA influence seems to have rubbed off, the more the better IMO.
Looking forward to the Don Valley gig, not looking forward to everyone ignoring the new songs and getting the hump when they don't play the whole first album. The price of fame eh

its all about the 1st album for me when they were singin bout realistic stuff goin out , doorman , clubs etc since that theyve gone creative grew there hair and fucked it all up just my opinion
got the first two albums and saw them on their first tour outside sheffield but not really for me these days. Of the two lps I've got the second pisses over the first - better song writing, better lyrics and shit hot production.

To be fair most bands are like that. Once they make it as big as the Arctic Monkeys or Oasis etc etc, they lose their creativity and drive and could fart and burp all over a track and people would still lap it up. Most bands early work is their best, not all, but most.

Yep
I was completely caught up in the AM wave, seeing the first gig at The Grapes, then Forum, Boardwalk, etc... going all over the country and then into Europe was class. Lads fully deserve their success. People criticising them for 'having long hair' etc. boils my piss. Everyone forgets they were teenagers when they wrote those first songs. Other bands would sell their souls to write tracks like that now, let alone when they were 16.
I'm with you Phil but I have never seen them live. I'm an embarassment to myself.
As for them losing creativity etc, they haven't really. They have changed their style a lot but I reckon they have gone from a shouty sing a long, lads band to a more mature rock band. Recording in America has definitely had an influence on them.
