To get away from what is my shit football team.why do i bother with it,blind stupid loyalty, something I've done for 40 years so its a habit,a hope that we might be sucessful again one day, terrible again today,I honestly wish sometimes I could just ignore it completely and get a new hobby but always get drawn back,I'm sure we all feel like this at times with our teams but needed a rant about it lol. Apologies😳
Frustrating as fuck, same at Hillsborough pal...though I'm hoping we're turning the corner after good results against villa yesterday and millwall in midweek....and Jordan Rhodes actually starting and scoring
You support your local club no matter how shit they are..that's the way it is John, Would you rather support someone else's local club that's more successful ? Fuck that it's in your blood.
I'll just echo whats already been said, I'm born and bred in West Brom, I've never looked at another club sideways, I've never looked at the big clubs and wished that was us, I've never wanted us to be a massive club, just have a good cup run and play good entertaining football. Alas, it ain't happening and if we stick with Pulis we are gonna be relegated, not that it will be a bad thing, football in the Championship is more intense, more exciting, there's more passion, everyone wants to win. Football now has become a business, in the future I can see less folk going to the games, why go and sit on your arse for 90 minutes on a cold Saturday afternoon, sitting next to some know all cunt who has never kicked a ball in his life when you could be sitting in the comfort of your sitting room/boozer having a nice steady drink or two. Fuck modern football, money has ruined the game and ripped the soul out of it.
I took the Bairn yesterday.,his first game.. after about 20 minutes he said, I thought I would get bored dad but am not, give it time son. We haven’t won anything or even really challenged for anything in my lifetime. We where terrible yesterday, we live in hope
Aye, I've some great pals through going to Wednesday, and wouldn't see a lot of them if I didn't go...got some great memories, not all about premiership and champions league, had the best times at Crewe, Stockport, Blackpool etc.... But now it's all about this [img][/img]
30 years ago was stood in the Old Shed , shit stadium , beaten on a regular basis and continually up and down the Leagues. Along comes the Russian and the entire club is transformed to an unrecognisable one from those heady days of scrappin , travelling on the train pissed and singing , having a real good fun day out. I took my boy , I say boy 22 soon , for the past 8 or 9 years , but this season I've stopped our membership and only watching on the tv because the games we went to last season were totally dire with respect to atmosphere and fun. True , the game has been ruined by finance, and sadly it seems only a play thing for the rich. Superb photo Wadey, that's memories flooding back to the good old days when my Nan knitted me a scarf. I've lost all passion for the game, and I'll not be surprised if Chelsea lose today and Conte gets sacked. It's shit, and no longer seems the working mans game. Bring back muddy pitches and six foot sliding tackles, fuck the divers and cheats of the game
Over 40 years of following Heart of Midlothian football club and many many lows but in amongst it three Scottish cup wins have made it worthwhile. Can’t ever think I will stop going home and away
Season ticket holder at utd on/off since 86, like steve says the games/hype and all that shite spoil it theses days. Currently go with my lad and he loves it, i could easily knock it on the head and wouldn't be bothered. Started to watch my local non league team Chorley about 10 years ago and love it, our biggest game in 20 odd years tomorrow night when we play Fleetwood in the Fa Cup. Real cup fever in the town and we are all out on the ale early afternoon before the game. Cmon the Magpies!
Been following my local team for a few years now. Essex senior league. Over 700 on a good day and average around 350 supporters on a normal day. Great buzz....
Don't get me wrong I have supported leeds for over 40 years and been going to watch em for nearly as long.i have never and will never support anybody else, and tbh been lucky seen them win league and promotions and play in Europe but the frustration over the last 15 years drives me mad.you get such fantastic highs with football and terrible lows, just think sometimes when travelled all over the country and see players who look like they couldn't give a fuck and who have no idea what it's like to be a fan,I accept some players are fans but majority haven't a fuckin clue. I travel 170 mile round trip for a home game but like Sean said it's in the blood and hard to stop caring but fuck me I feel like it sometimes. Another season mid to lower half of the championship to look forward to🙄

I finished around 5.30 this morning and I'm still dying now.
It's what the Toon drive you to, but we keep on going back.

Home games are dire. Which is what draws me to the European away games. Even though we lost in Rome last week, it was a great laugh and meeting people you otherwise wouldn't.

I haven't been for over 3 years now J. Leeds still ruin my weekend though. Luckily we've won a few trophies in my lifetime a day I've made some life long friends through my following them from the 70s until now. These days I'd rather give my girls some money rather than waste it on football...
