I do keep an eye out for Rihana , only 'cause her dress sense tends to be minimilistic ..

From memory the Stones picture was around the Between the Buttons era/photoshoot.
Brian Jones always looked wasted/sickly well dressed.
Charlie Watts always dressed very well.

The Verve is a good shout. How fucking cool do they look on the urban hymns cover?

When they came out The Tough Alliance looked very cool as well. Wouldn't wear their clothes myself, but they carry it very well.

Danny Mahon always seems to be fairly well dressed.

Not sure about Viva Brother, one of the lads got a Red 6876 Dessau in one of their videos.

Must agree with Twang though.

the predictable 80's 'have a laugh' post and cool indie guys who are usually wannabees. Unlike the stone rose and mondays back in the day! they were lads who fell into making a band

But Stone Roses?? Brown was a goth c 1985, now he's Mr Adidas. Think the bassist was others weren't

Mondays had that trampy Manchester look 86-88, different to what terrace wear was back then for rest of country, looked good 88 onwards,

The only person in a band who has ever really been in touch with casual fashion and not been trying too hard was Chris Lowe c 1986.

Irrelevant now as it's dead.

Saw a mention of the Jam earlier, I reckon the Style Council were a much sharper looking outfit:





Pretty sure that during their early days the style council were dressed almost head to toe in gear from John Simons. Hard to argue with mac/oxford shirt/slim chinos/weejuns/a bit of tom
