Anyone had it? I've had it over most of Christmas and just getting over the worst of it. Floored me for a few days. The Mrs is down with it now but seems to have had minimal effect in the kids which is good news. It feels like it's really starting to spread in my town, as I know loads that are getting it. I thought I would have had it ages ago without knowing. Stay safe.
I work in a building which is split intae two separate houses, housing autistic adults wae challenging behaviour. Each house runs independently from one another and they have had tae draft in folk from the side I work in tae work in the other, the staff are dropping like flies........ I’ve worked a flanker and said I’ll cover the nightshift in my side as the lassie meant tae be doing it has been contacted by track and trace. Hopefully that will keep me safely out the way for a week.

Me and the Mrs woke up yesterday to what we thought was a bad hangover, felt like I'd had a good kicking in. Then the coughing started, been up most of the night, now laying on the sofa and I ain't moving.

That's how mine started mate. Just thought it was the usual Christmas hangover
I felt rough about the 23rd but it didn't get in the way if a few beers. It really kicked in on 28th which was my birthday. I had 2 days of mental headaches and a bit of a chest. I've had a fuzzy head since new year's Day. I'm isolatating till 8th now. I'm hoping I'll be better this week, so I can tuck into all the Christmas ale!

Cheers mate, struggling today. She's not feeling too good today so I'm playing nursey, how am I supposed to know where everything lives? I've just asked her which way I have to turn the mixer tap for hot water that went down well!
Bloke on my section at work had it recently, reckoned he's never felt so ill, his Mrs. who is recovering from cancer ended up in hospital, thankfully she's out now, but 6 weeks later she still hasn't fully recovered. A lot of it out there at the moment

Cheers M, I'm just getting over it now, I think. It's a sneaky little fucker, at times you think your OK then it kicks you in the bollocks and takes your recovery back. On a brighter note, I've not had a drink since NYD and I've lost 3 lb.

That's good to hear T, i know the bloke at work took 2 weeks to test negative, but his Mrs. who went down with after him was still testing positive so he had to isolate and it was nearly a month before he was back to work. I was hoping, kidding myself really that we might get away with the worst of it this time down here, but once it arrived it has spread quickly...

Went back to work yesterday, still not 100% I can still feel it on my chest and still not got my sense of smell back. On a brighter note, still not drinking and lost 8lb!
My mate, i'm sure he gave it me, is in a bad way, he's now got pneumonia! Phoned him today and he's still rough as fuck, he's dropped 10 kilos in weight.
Quote: 1985casual wrote in post #393Must be that "Long COVID" that we've heard about, no-one I know has tested positive for a while but anyone last year was back to normal within a week!
Well....myself, my missus and one of my daughters have COVID. All 3 with symptoms. My other daughter has symptoms but tested negative. Fuck me did I feel rough yesterday and I've been double jabbed. 10 days isolation for us all. Gutted for my girls as its A level result day on Tuesday...😔
