Just for the record I vote for the party I think is going to do ok for me and my family. I'm neither Tory or Labour. I voted for Tony Blair in 1997 but then I've voted Tory last two times as I think they are more well equipped to sort the economy out etc.
And if you have five seconds to spare, then I'll tell you the story of my life...

How can that party relate to you? Run by old Etonians who will sell off our national institutions to make their mates millions makes me sick.
The electorate is too thick to see past the media spin and the lies they feed us.
The mess Labour put us in? You are aware the conservatives backed Labour's spending up till 2010.
Problem with this nation is the selfishness of our society the I'm alright jack attitude. They've made us hate our own and public lap it up. Brain dead.
I see from your profile your from Merseysnide, no surprises there!
Whilst on the subject of Labour, Merseyside and 'I'm alright jack attitude' tell me do you still have a picture of Hatton on your bedroom wall? If anyone fitted that criteria it was him, nearly bankrupt the city of Liverpool, doing alright for HIMSELF now though, ain't he?
The Looney Left, I've shit 'em!
Its time to move on we're now living in the 21st Century!
Whats coming from meresyside got to do with anything what a stupid naive way to think&talk

I voted tory, voted for blair in the 90's and what a twat he turned out to be. would never vote for labour again. Tories are better at balancing the books and they hate scroungers and hopefully they will bring in the 3 point system for immigration. The NHS is the countries biggest outgoing and it needs sorting out. How much do GP's and Surgeons get paid? It needs to be part privatised. Makes me laugh when people go on about saving our NHS then moaning about how there nan was left in a waiting room for 8 hours.
Some people like to see themselves as working class still. But most people with working class backgrounds with good jobs like to see themselves as middle class. I too grew up on a council estate in the 70's and watched labour tear the country apart with strike after strike and power cuts galore. Where as the tories empowered people by letting them buy there own home. hoo rah for the tories I'm off to go fox hunting now.

The right to buy scheme has resulted in the housing crisis we face today. Home 'ownership' is lifelong debt unless you're one of the few who can buy a house outright.

Balancing the books isn't an end, it's simply a means to an end.
The tories based a lot of their campaign on the ability to 'balance the books'. The budget deficit isn't the problem, the national debt is the problem which is over a trillion pounds worth. That's never going away so the interest we pay on it, which is extortionate, won't change.
The real issues are the poor fuckers who can't afford to live and are having to rely on foodbanks on a daily basis. The fact is that under this Tory government a privately funded health services looks more like a probability rather than a possibility. The tax breaks which are offered to this most affulent in the country are shifted onto the poor. In the last parliament, before I even had the chance to vote, the coalition put me in a position whereby I would be 18k worse off before I even entered the job market as a student.
My reasons for not voting Conservative, and choosing the alternative - Labour.

Quote: dream attack wrote in post #71Labour supporters will agree with me that the right to buy there council house was decent thing by the tory government back in the 80s am sure of that
I think you're confused mate. Labour supporters defend council housing and oppose privatisation. The Tories oppose state ownership and sold off the housing stock.
The mortgage brokers, property speculators and building firms did well. The illusion of owning your own home burdened families with a lifetime of debt. Instead of paying rent to landlords they pay the banks at a higher level. This lead to the boom in house prices, credit, sink estates and chronic housing shortage we see today.
