Quote: Macca wrote in post #24I would imagine any Chelsea season ticket holder who's attended even one Europa league away match will almost be gurented a ticket for the final cant say any fairer than that
I would imagine they take that into consideration when giving the allocation
That's not really the point. It's more the fact that only 20,000 of the ticket allocation has gone to the fans of both clubs. With the rest going to the neutral and corporate (which no doubt will end up on the Black Market). For an away game you will be offered 3 - 4000 and the rest of the ground will be made of away fans, obviously. Dependent on the profile of the game the demand for tickets will be higher. Fair enough Chelseas away attendance has dipped for certain games but when you are playing away quite a lot, money becomes an issue and you sometimes start to pick and choose which games as you kind of expect/gamble to go through. Take clubs that are in Europe less regularly, there will be mass demand for tickets as everyone will be up for it for every game. I remember Birmingham taking shitloads to Prague as one example. However if your club gets to the final you should stand a good chance of getting a ticket for the final. There should be a system in place whereby the most loyal should be top of the list, which there is. There will though still be a high number of loyal supporters missing out due to the poor allocation. The point was not merely aimed at Chelsea fans but fans in general, across all competitions. The allocation for the FA Cup final has been a long running dispute, which again is wrong.

A load of my lot have aswell, then flying straight to Benidorm the next day. I'm in two minds at the moment.
We're going Belfast-Dublin-Eindhoven-Dam.... bit of a trek but it was cheap as chips and good times. Mark (wrighty) and his lot are going via Eindhoven too, similar times. gets you into the Dam about 12 noon.
Fucking Viagogo had tickets on last night for fucking hundreds. How these cunts can get away with legalising touting I don't know
All booked up. Got a direct return flight from Malaga. Saves to much messing about. Means I land early afternoon on Tuesday. Managed to get a hostel in the center of the Red Light district for £35 for two nights. Should be interesting. It's got a Sports Bar underneath, so if the ticket hunting fails (likely) at least I've got a confirmed back up plan.
Good choice for the Hostel and underneath Sports Bar. 10 minutes walk from Central Station mate. Fine Hostel for only sleep, and pretty good Pub for breakfast, live sports etc etc. Go out the Hostel to left. By the first bridge also left. Walking in the alley, walk over the bridge, go right and you find the great Old Sailor Pub.
You know the one then mate? The Globe. Looks like it will do the job, not very plush but so long as its clean. Some others on here have decided do it style by going for en suite showers and balconies. I don't expect to spend to much time in there. I had one in Munich but only spent a few hours sleeping in it and that was just the first night.

Yeah mate. Did some years ago many drinks there in weekends before Ajax matches. Will be clean for that price! For only sleep and shower is it perfect!
I know what your saying super frank in an ideal world the co-operates wouldn't get as big an allocation but that's the way it's been for years and the only way around it is to make sure you build up your away record in the group or knockout stages and the fact you only had to attend just 1 of those matches prior in order to get a ticket for the final isn't that bad to be honest considering it is a final
I know people who attended 3 euro aways this season and didn't even get a ticket for our last 16 champions league game (Celtic) never mind the final
Well I managed to get a ticket. 135E with a face value of 70E. Not bad I think. I was sat in an empty row of 5 though. There was plenty floating around, mostly going for 500 a pair but no one was paying that. Better things to spend that kind of money on in Amsterdam. They were down to 100 before the game.
I hope Platini's eyes opened up during the presentation that nearly 3 quarters of the ground where blue but I doubt it.
Plenty of spares around the ground mate right before kick off. Official attendance was at least 2-3k down on the expected amount iirc. Going to bed now. Fucked but another super euro away. Prague next...

Sounds like a brilliant trip! My mates came back one down unfortunately, he's up tomorrow in court, likely to get a ban at Rangers and Chelsea. Heard stories of loads being released out of the 60 nicked but he wasn't so lucky.
What's he date of Prague? That sounds like another cracker.

Yes great trip. I too slept for a good 12 hours. Not good as it was my girlfriends bday, so I didn't ring her. The grief will have been worth it though. Today was a bit of struggle but due to my voice being pretty non-existent the boss gave me a bit of a wide berth. A lot of people comment on it only being a Mickey Mouse cup but at the end of the day what fan, plastic or otherwise, would not enjoy any kind of final.
I didn't see any trouble whilst I was there. There was a scuffle that was filmed and put on Youtube. Not to say there wasn't any looking for it. I walked out of my hostel, having had to have an afternoon nap (cheating) and walked into a little firm that I thought were Chelsea Youth. Started to chat to them, next thing they're trying it on with me spouting loads of gibberish. Only just had my nosed sorted so that was the last thing I wanted. They soon got rounded up by the Police. Would have been a result for them getting a drunken half a sleep man walking on his own I suppose
Apart from that, I think most people were to busy enjoying the delights Amsterdam has on offer to be to bothered about a row. There was a lot of relief that we didn't get the Turkish as it might have added a bit of tension. Not intending to have a dig at them but that was a general feeling.
The Super Cup (another Mickey Mouse cup) is 30th August. Glad they've decided to move it. I didn't think to much of Monaco. Maybe I'm getting spoiled by the success.
I slept for 15 hours. 4pm through to 7am and up for work. Slow day here so enjoying the quietness tbh..... yeah, cant understand why anyone wouldn't go to a final in the Dam. Wouldn't matter what the cup was. Euro Aways Capital City almost Saw the youtube clip. Benfica 'ultras'/hooligans seemingly getting legged and a few slaps. Wrighty and his 8 year old son walked smack into the Utrect/Rangers v OB snatch squads' off. Was right outside our hotel. Originally we thought it was Ajax but turned out to be plain clothes OB having a go at a few outside the Grasshopper bar. Agree about the Turks. Most Benfica seemed happy to keep themselves to themselves from what I saw although passed a crowd heading towards the Grasshopper and thought 'that won't end well'... but that was the only time.
yeah, gonna start checking Prague travel arrangements soon. I agree - much prefer it to Monaco although we stayed in Nice and it was.....nice
@Trendy - was your mate with the Dumbarton Rangers lot?
our route in via Eindhoven was spot on and I'd do it again. easy trains, plenty of decent times,

I looked out for you flag mate but didn't see it. There wasn't many flags flying round where we were. Pretty much camped out down to the canals in the Red Light area. I did have a wander down to Rembrandt square, where there was the odd pocket but I think window shopping won out on where people were going to end up. Shame the ordinary bars didn't stay open late down the strip after the game as there was loads out. I had to leave at 0500, so managed to find a bar near the station that was full of Chelsea and had a good sing song till the early hours. Made the journey home a lot less painful as I just crashed out.
Did you see the incident with some Liverpool fans putting up a large red flag with Rafa written all over it on one of the bridges? I heard it stayed up for all of a minute before it ended up in the drink, with the owners nearly following it.

if those pool lads are who I think it was, we were drinking with them earlier that day!! Sound bunch - main lad is on 80s. And I've a good pic of them holding up my flag as well was that Teasers you stayed in all night? We were up and out at 530am for the train and it was still going but as you say,. the rest of the place seemed closed up from 1am. Ended up drinking in our hotel bar after the match just. you looked at Prague yet???? the flights are all around the £200 mark ffs.... what happened to the cheap flights to there

Not sure. It was the one with loads of flags (not fans) flying outside of it, down the road from the station. There was a bloke on the Mic singing a load of old songs just before I left. Pretty expensive too. Three where a lot of other bars open away from the strip but seemed they wanted to get you in the strip clubs to spend your money. I had a shocker when I looked at my bank account yesterday.
I've had a quick look at Prague. Its a bit of nightmare for me here in Gibraltar, in terms of times. But looking at landing somewhere else and get the train in. Hopefully get there earlyish Friday and come back Sunday. It'll be a trip I wouldn't like to miss. Maybe another line up against Munich. I'm pretty much resigned to paying £200 for a flight these days. I think that bubble burst a while ago. It has for me anyway.

aye, that was Teasers mate. about the only one I saw open fairly late. I'm looking at other routes too. There's nothing direct from Belfast now to Prague so will be probably dublin into somewhere. I've been to Prague a few times and although I'd like to do this one, not paying silly money for it. I'm saying that now but come nearer the time.....
