Quote: STEVECFC wrote in post #42hhmmm , player who captains the club , contributes all season to their success , and is a footballer .. that's why you see the likes of Rooney kitted out , probably many before .. you just seem to zone into anything Chelsea though , which is rather strange - it's almost OCD on your part .. As for plastic fans , you actually know these people you keep seem to be going on about ? Think any club has them , old fella by me at our local , spurts shite all day long about the massive club that once was , Liverpool , yet never set foot inside the promised land of Anfield .. Some can't afford the daft prices being charged , so that makes them plastic ?
"contributes all season to their success"
24 games compared to Lampards 38 Like I said, I've no problem with CFC or Lampard lifting the trophy, it was that twat running on the pitch to claim it for himself!
Plastic fan:
Someone who's only experience of visiting their teams ground was probably a birthday treat by their parents or a school day trip. Plastic fans are the ones who watches every game from the comfort of their living room sofa and are usually the most vocal when their team wins, and who only see good in their team.
Quote: Dempsey wrote in post #39We were getting more at our games when we were in the Championship than Chelsea,FACT
As of 2007 Chelsea had the 5th highest ALL TIME AVERAGE attendance total, FACT! Newcastle were narrowly behind in 6th.
Newcastle are a one club city, Chelsea play in a city with loads of competing clubs yet still they were above Newcastle for the all time average attendance.
We were famous for our away support in the 80's, only Liverpool and United had bigger numbers.
Newcastle's away support is embarrassing. Loads of 'wahey man' lads in replica shirts.
Newcastle were getting over 41 thousand when they were in Championship FACT,third best supported team behind Man U and arsenal,as for away support we sell out every game FACT,that's one thing no one can slag Newcastle off for its there support. How can anyone say our fans are embarrassing is beyond me,real fans not tourists who are jumping on the bandwagon WAHEY what ever that's supposed to be
Quote: nothavinit wrote in post #35No one mentioned Rooney in his kit or Lindegaard wearing his gloves at the weekend.
Rooney is a wanker as well. Lindegaard was on the bench so was in his kit anyway.
Some players aren't limelight grabbing tools and these two openly say their '99 winners medals mean nowt because they didn't play in the final even though one of them produced one of the best mudfield displays you'd ever see in the semi-final.
As for being champions of Europe, last year yes and everyone congratulated you for it. Europa league? I honestly have no idea who the past winners are because it is a second rate cup and don't take it seriously. I'm not sure the London press even mentioned it in past years but all of a sudden it's a monumental achievement. I'm not being bitter neither and hope the lads who were out there had a great time.
As I said the rules have changed since then. UEFA requests the players to wear their kits. Terry played a full part in the Europa League campaign, not as if he didn't play in the other games.
The UEFA Cup used to be huge, 2nd and 3rd in the major leagues qualified so it was arguably stronger than the European Cup. UEFA have downgraded it big time but it's still a European trophy at the end of the day.
Haha, sell out every away game? You barely take 1000 to Stamford Bridge every season. Typical delusional Geordie. As I said, 5th all time average attendance, ABOVE Newcastle the one club city, end of story.
Your fans are embarrassing, in the top 3 for away ends filled with replica shirts.

We all know the UEFA cup used to be harder to win but the Europa league is nothing like that. Not sure why you've mentioned that? The Europa league is the Johnstone paints trophy for Europe.
You keep mentioning this rule change and yet Hazard and Ba were in suits?
Chelsea's home attendances have been up and down over the years, as have Newcastle's (16000 in '91?) but we still have 4 of the top 10 attendances in English league history, 92,905 being the highest.

That's what I said, it has been downgraded. Well no, it's the second biggest European trophy you can win, even if it's nothing like it used to be.

Stop kidding yourself. As a football club Chelsea want fuck all to do with the Europa league, no big clubs do.
All joking/taunting aside, why so PL teams outside the top 4 fight all season to get into the Europa League and then when they get there not give a fuck?
Surely Spurs, Everton, Liverpool, West Brom and Swansea City fans would love to win a European cup?

You just happen to have the 3rd biggest capacity. One club city and you are a perfect example of a totally delusional fan base. Wahey!

Not originally but Chelsea ended up in the competition and any club wants to win trophies. The Europa League is the second best European trophy a club can win. You only need to look at the fans to see what it means, Benfica devastated and Chelsea jubilant.
Indeed, they are the third best supported by virtue of capacity. I'm sure clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham would have bigger attendances with a bigger capacity, Newcastle's away support it pitiful. Chelsea take more to Newcastle than they take to Chelsea season after season. Norwich had more numbers at the bridge than Newcastle have had for the past 5 years and that was for a youth cup game. The majority of the Newcastle away end wears black and white, poor away support and the home atmosphere isn't worth a wank either.

Would love to lift a major trophy if i'm honest mate, last time we opened our trophy cabinet was in '68.
Anyway, back on track, what are your thought on John Terry?
Laughable. A trip to the library that is Stamford Bridge is one of the worst in the league. Pricing is terrible and the atmosphere is non-existent. It has been for years, despite the Moscow gravy train.

Agree on pricing and it can be flat like all Premier League grounds but it's still up there with the best on a good day/night. Ferguson said so himself when he said the home fans really get behind their team here and that spurs them on.
The hyperbole about St James Park is laughable. Ground has been dead for years.
