last night was apalling probably he biggest dissapointment watching england ive witnessed... ....big tournament just play your best 11 all the fucking about with team selection should of been done and sorted out in the piss poor qualifying group we came through so im glad to see him go... and still can,t understand why ross barkley and leighton baines wernt starters and jerome defoe a established goal scorer wasn,t in the squad ..think the team lacked a bit of exprieance...and the fine victory over germany be it in a friendly had us and certainley Wroy deluded at our position in world football
Woy was summed up when he brought Rashford on with 5 mins to go ffs, the bloke had no idea coupled with a group of players who are nowhere near as good as THEY think they are. They just didn't want it bad enough, I'm not taking anything away from Iceland as they deserved the win, they wanted it more and were well organised. When we got the ball they had 2/3/4 players swarming round us, when they had the ball near our area we go to sleep, absolute shite. Even more proof how overrated the EPL is imo and England could learn a lot from the other home nations and their attitude.
I honestly don't believe it's about a lack of passion. Those Iceland players perform in minor leagues because they aren't good enough to play at a higher level. It has to be a mentality issue. Those last fifteen minutes were as bad as I've ever seen from an England team and it was because of fear. They were struggling to make simple five yard passes and to control the ball which we know they are capable of. Ex England players are saying they remember having the same fears of losing and how it affected them when playing for England. The baffling thing is why it only seems to happen to England players?
Hodgson is a clown and shouldn't be anywhere near the job but you can't blame him for a professional footballer not being able to pass a ball ten yards.
Don't agree with the fear theory, you are paid big money in any job to deal with pressure, fear etc.if these wankers think they deserve 80/100 grand and more a week then imo they should be able to deal with it.as mark said the epl is nowhere near as good as people make out, massive wages doesn't make the best league.problem is kids of 18/19/20 on fuckin stupid money, playing for england means fuck all to them, all laid on pitch last night like they were so gutted, bunch of overpaid twats who are overhyped and believe it all.i mean sterling 50 million can't cross a fuckin ball, but bless him his confidence is low, what a joke.
Seen all of them false disappointment makes you laugh.off the coach with headphones on,which fuckin winds me up!! Wankers, talented players says Woy,done everything asked of them??apart from play football with passion and ability that is Woy. Rashford more dribbles past players than anybody,on the field 5 mins, says it all.

If it's fear or pressure mate, then it's got to be largely down to the media continually putting the England team up at a level which they're not. Continual comparisons with countries who regularly win these competitions has no basis. That's the sad truth. Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argies, etc...etc.... even in recent years, Spain and France. These teams have won the trophies and consistently contest the big semi-finals and finals. Barring 66, England have 2 semi-finals to talk about in my time. All it does is raise expectation to levels the players will never meet. And the arrogance of the media is jaw dropping. In the first half last night, Clive Tyldsley actually compared the score to the San Marino game....against a team who'd beaten the Dutch in qualifying which he finally brought out in the second half when he realised it was looking ominous..... In the build up Iceland had been dismissed as cannon fodder. Even at half-time the talk was about replacing Hart in the next game!!! fuck me..... Of course that England team should beat Iceland all day long but it's not like the warning signs weren't there - they'd already drawn with Portugal. The only pundit I saw show any sign of concern beforehand was Ian Wright. Saying that, even after all that though, inept manager coupled with a defence and keeper who can't do basics right....you aint gonna go far. Football has gone bonkers though. Bale was lauded on Saturday for playing a square ball across the 6 yard box like he'd just done a 'Pele' in Escape to Victory....80 million and being praised for being able to play a cross in with all the time in the world...jesus wept, honestly.
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."

The FA is going to investigate England's preparations and performance? Being crap is now an investigative matter?
that will be a complete waste of cash heard this response before in the mid 80,s when we decided we were crap and decided to set up Lilleshaw Football School Of Ineptness
It was a comedy of errors starting the day he picked the squad. He's had all season to work out his best team and he was still trying to figure the fucker out last night. At big tournaments you need a diverse squad because you face so many different styles of play, he didn't take one winger. He was asked before the game last night about selecting Sterling, he said he thought he played well against Russia and that they needed wingers to play against Iceland. Literally fucking clueless. The likes of Wilshere, Henderson, Milner, Sterling shouldn't even be in an international squad. None of those are creative players, the team is missing that playmaker that other sides have. Someone to change the game. He was playing Rooney and Dier in exactly the same role last night, they needed someone try and open them up, he gets Barkley sitting there and he puts the teachers pet on , fucking Wilshere! That cunt couldn't open up a tins of beans.
Harry Kane and Alli looked burnt out, dreadful performances. Neither could barely run. They looked invincible for Spurs during the season. Don't forget Kane has the service from some very good players at Spurs, he had to drop deep a lot when played to get the ball. And taking the free-kicks and corners was simply ridiculous. Rooney has took the plaudits over the years yet he has never done it on the big stage, he played well in a couple of group games but when it mattered it he flopped again. I'd have dropped Hart after the Wales game, he's carrying on the England bloopers reel far too often. There's a solid keeper in Forster on the bench waiting for a chance. The defence is poor also, Walker and Rose might be decent going forward but can't defend to save their life, I'd have taken Banes and started Clyne. When was the last time England had a decent centre half, any ideas Tone? Forgot to mention Lallana, he gives the team movement and has played well. He opens the pitch up for others with his constant runs and has a good touch in and around the box, then he gets dropped last night. Fucking madness.
I can't understand the fear thing, most of these are young players playing for their country at the highest level, most of them had a good season. They come up against better players every week for their clubs. They should be relaxed, confident and enjoying their football. Yet at major tournaments most look like they've seen a ghost. It's baffling.
Southgate has been made the favourite for the job, on the face of it you'd think that was a bad idea. His lack of experience at the highest level, his reputation etc. But when you look at the track record of those before him experience seems to count for fuck all at international level. He's relatively young for an England manager, he will bring a different approach, fresh ideas and he has his finger on the pulse of the new generation of players coming through. There's some excellent players in his u21's and he is good at nurturing young talent. Looking at the alternatives it wouldn't be a bad appointment.

Bang on regarding the media Glenn and they are partly responsible for why I hardly care about Ingerlund anymore. I was laughing when those two goals went in last night.
Take Joe Hart for instance. He's a decent keeper and yet the English media talk him up like he's a worldie. Wilshire is another one, he's an ordinary player but for some reason the press build him up to Xavi levels. The list is endless.
However, England are better than what they served up last night but they continue to freeze at major tournaments and that has to be a mental thing. Suddenly not being able to do the simple things has nothing to do with ability.
Anyway, we should have known not to rely on a bunch of Spurs players, they are afterall the quintessential bottle jobs
