Nice weather so it's making cycling all the more enjoyable. Anyone else big into cycling ? Training and fitness ? After just over a year now of training for weight loss, now starting to look more into the cycling, adding extra bits to my bike, looking at a good midrange road bike. So if you are into cycling how about posting up some pics of your bike, clothing reviews for cycling, extras added to your bike. Opinions, such as clip or non clip on peddles / shoes .. Arm rests, fancy wheels. Any views, pictures, opinions welcome .. cycling wise ..
What this guy don't know about static bikes ain't worth knowing. He covered over 1k last year, looking at the same wall......and he's quite happy to tell you, he's never had a puncture!

I use a bike to commute to and from work, wouldn't call it enjoyable, it's not the nicest place to be when your cycling uphill, in the piss pouring rain against the wind! If your looking for a new bike you've probably missed the sales, buying 'last years' model can usually save you a good wedge...which can be put towards a new jacket. There's still some decent sales about for clothing and if I were you I would pay the extra, it's worth it. I've found clip ons brilliant when off roading but in a heavy built up area they can be dangerous, imo, as you sometimes need to get your foot on the floor asap!
Used to cycle all over ..did the Algarve Spain with a tent on the back..fit as fuck, long time ago... Rarely use my bike now..run few times a week not far tho 2 -3 miles but pace is fast and strength train 3 times a week without fail..it keeps me off the drink..

Since the 2012 Olympics cycling has become massive in UK and most people I see on bikes are fully kitted out. They must spend a fortune on gear, I see a cycling club every Saturday morning that must have about 30 members, all top to toe in the kit.
Your right but is it needed..There's grown men that wear leggings and vests in the my gym that can't do a pull up.. Hardest part of there session is getting ready

Style over substance in most cases, looks cool on their Instagram though.

i train Monday to Friday, half an hour a day up in me attic. Arms, chest, shoulders and back...nowt to heavy, I do enough lugging at work...also do about 80 sit ups a day I then proceed to undo all this at the weekend lol
GTBI on the fitness thread....are you lost???? Staring at 20 something birds whilst on a stationary bike is not 'fitness'
train 6 times a week. About an hour - hour20 a session. Mostly weights but I do Tabata (no Tone, she's not a little oriental bird who works there ) every few days which has been one of the best training approaches I've done in 25 years and throw in cardio only sessions, sprints on the treadmill, etc.... 44 and in far better nick than I was at 24. Always wear full on lycra suit like skaters with Adidas City Series in loud colours - is that okay?

And therein lies the problem mate, the demon piss. I go to the gym 4 times a week and go on the piss 3, its a vicious merry-go round ain't it?

Mainly bike for me with some swimming and running chucked into the mix. Usually get a 3-4 hour ride in at a weekend this time of year weather permitting ( don't ride in ice or frost after two falls on the darn stuff ) plus a couple of 1 hour turbo sessions in the week. Aim to get 2 swims in a week, one 2k ( 45mins approx ) and a shorter session doing drills, run twice a week when calf behaving, one 3-4 miler plus a 5-6. Quite structured at present as doing Outlaw Half in May ( Half Ironman distance ) and Dambuster Triathlon in June. As the nights pull out I'll ride more including Time Trials May-Aug and some sportives then finish season with a few Sprint Tri's Sept/Oct. Kit wise, as Ian says mainly Rapha ( sadly not sponsored though ) Pride & joy is S Works Tarmac with Ultegra Di2, Zipp 404 NSW's , doesn't come out in winter though.
TT Bike is a Specialized Shiv Pro Race for Time Trials and Triathlons, uncomfortable so use for a few training rides to get used to position.

Impressive fitness regime there Mark .. And those bikes are quality .. I go daily no matter on the weather, I ride for about 1 hour 45 mins , everyday when home .. At work I train twice a day, treadmill , static bike and rowing machine .. When I first started I bought from the official site team sky cycling wear , but a guy on eBay sells it cheap , possibly fake , but one set has lasted a year now and is washed daily so I'm not fussed ..
