I've called people "fenian cunts" during my lifetime same way I've been called 'Orange cunt'. My use of the term was simply because it was a quick to mind, known attribute associated with them and not me. Had they been Fat, I'd probably have used Fat quicker. Had both of us been fat, I'd have looked for an alternative attribute he had that I didn't (ugly , specky, ginger, etc...etc...)....all within the heat of the moment I may add. The point is, it didn't mean my life was an entrenched hatred of catholics (particularly given I've close catholic friends) but merely a quick way to throw a hopefully hurtful attribute back at the person during a row. I'd imagine this was something similar in this case. I understand what is being said from both sides on this. Using a racial insult like "black cunt" in the heat of the moment doesn't mean you are a fully-fledged racist.
